Materials for breaking the silence around postpartum depression, free to download, print and share.
Most mothers in Sierra Leone who experience postpartum depression never hear the words for it. They hear that it is baby blues, that they should pray, that a strong woman would cope.
None of that is malice. It is what people were taught. Which means it can be untaught, one market outreach, one radio slot and one conversation between neighbours at a time.

Fact: Baby blues lasts a few days. Postpartum depression lasts weeks or months and does not lift on its own.
Fact: This is an illness, not a character weakness. Strength has nothing to do with it.
Fact: Faith comforts many mothers, and it can sit alongside care. It is not a reason to go without support.
Fact: Many mothers with postpartum depression love their babies deeply and are frightened by how they feel.
Fact: Fathers and partners can experience depression after a birth too, and they also deserve support.
Fact: Asking for help is not a reason for anyone to remove a child. Support exists to keep families together.

Each download needs the actual PDF, its file size in the link text, and a language label. Mothers on metered data need to know what a file costs before they tap it. Delete this notice once the files are in place.
